The Zen Coaching Wisdom Fund

Supporting Zen Coaching projects for the benefit of wisdom presence in society

We are happy to announce that we have now established a Zen Coaching Fund to support coaching projects for the benefit of society.  Members of the Zen Coaching network are welcome to start Zen Coaching projects and seek financial support from the Fund.

The fund is financed through donations, and is administered by Kåre Landfald.

The fund will pay for zen coaching sessions carried out projects, up to a maximum of 350 NOK/SEK/DKK per session. In this way, project beneficiaries can receive coaching sessions for a low cost, or for free (it is, however, recommended that beneficiaries pay a small sum for each session, in order to secure personal commitment to the process.) Project costs other than coaching sessions must be funded from other sources, or offered for free from project members.

The maximum support available for a single project is 15 000 NOK.  This would equal, for example, 50 coaching sessions in total if each coach in the project receives 300 NOK from the Fund for each session offered.

Example of a possible project:

Name of project: Zen Coaching School Project
Place of project: Oslo (name of school not yet decided)
Start and end of project:  Start: 1 November 2010  End: 1 March 2011
Purpose: To support wisdom presence in schools through Zen Coaching support to teachers.
Activities:   10 hours of low-cost coaching (100kr per session) will be offered to selected teachers in a school over a period of 4 months, including opening and ending workshops and evaluation/feedback from both teachers and students. The project will also offer free workshops for the teachers at the beginning and end of the project.
Project members: 3 coaches.
Hours of coaching / budget:  5 teachers = 50 hours total; 300 NOK pr session = 15 000 NOK total budget.
Other comments:  Teachers will pay 100kr per session to secure committment to the process. The coaches will therefore receive 400 kr per session in total, including the support from the fund. Project members will offer workshops for free in the project.

(In this example, some required information is not included, such as information about evaluation process and potential for self-financing and expansion. See full project format, below.)

Criteria for funding of projects:

1. The purpose of the project is to spread wisdom presence by offering Zen Coaching sessions to people in special needs, or to groups / organisations that work for the benefit of society. The project should target audiences that would normally not be able to pay for coaching themselves.

2. The project has a clear beginning and a clear end, with a maximum project length of 6 months.

3. The project is carried out by Zen Coaching Network members in a team (minimum two coaches in cooperation)

4. To receive support, the project members are asked to have their profile on the Zen Coaching website, and the project should also be presented on the website (posting will be done by Hanne).

Projects that will be prioritized

The following types of projects will be prioritized:

-projects where the project members are participating in the Zen Coaching Deepening program, and are active participants in other Zen Coaching Network activities.
-projects that are new and innovative (different from other projects already being funded)
-projects that have an the greatest expansion potential
-projects that have the potential to become self-financing over time (please describe potential for this in the funding request)

To request support for a project:

Send a project description following the format of the example project above (with added details) to Hanne and Kåre.

A response to the request will be received within 1-4 weeks. Funding will depend on the availability of funds, and according to the priorities listed above.

Report

After completion of the project period, a report with description of activities completed, results achieved, experiences & learning gained, list of expenditures, and future activities planned is to be submitted to Kåre, Kim & Hanne.

It is possible to apply for support for further phases of completed projects after the completion report has been submitted and reviewed.
